At All Around Child, we incorporate our Read & Grow Program into every classroom. Reading plays an essential role in a child’s development, and our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of books from the earliest age. A 2019 study found that children who are read five books each day may enter kindergarten having heard approximately 1.4 million more words than children who are rarely or never read to.*

Our program aligns with the Kansas Early Learning Standards. Young infants begin developing early literacy skills by gazing at pictures in books (CL.L.i.1) and briefly listening as an adult reads aloud (CL.L.i.4). Through consistent exposure to books, we help children build their vocabulary, comprehension, curiosity, and confidence.

We have seen wonderful results—from infants beginning to recognize familiar pictures and characters to Pre-K children retelling stories and comparing the adventures and experiences of different characters (CL.L.p4.8).
