At All Around Child, we incorporate a Reading Program called Read & Grow into each class. Reading plays a large role in a child's development, and we want to continue to contribute in ways to excite our little ones to read. A 2019 study* showed that children who were read five books a day, entered kindergarten having heard about 1.4 million more words than kids who were never read to".

According to the Kansas Early Standards, a young infant shows interest in books by gazing at pictures CL.L.i.1 and listening briefly to stories being read by an adult CL.L.i.4. We are able to start literacy early and grow our children's knowledge and vocabulary. The results have been outstanding as we have seen our young infants begin to familiarize themselves with the characters in the book, and observed our Pre-Kindergartners retell, compare, and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters CL.L.p4.8.

Let us all join in opening the doors of imagination to our children as we foster creativity and allow them to experience the world through reading.
