Our toddler program serves children ages 12 to 18 months. Beginning at the 12 month level, all children are to be on all table food and no bottles, on one nap per day from approximately 11:30am - 2:30 pm, and walking.
Our general standards for curriculum development begin in the Busy Bugs program. Each day follows a generalized schedule of active and quiet activities which fall along the lines of the standard developmental areas. The areas focused on include gross and fine motor skills, sensory exploration, language development, and introduction to the "arts". Beginning at the 12 month level, "fine arts" includes hands-on " artistic" manipulation, music and movement exploration, and physical education development.
The daily schedule includes two periods of outdoor or indoor play, two snacks, and a full lunch. Whole milk is served with all lunches and all but three snacks per week until 2 years of age in order to promote healthy bone and teeth development. Each child also takes home a "Daily Adventure Journal" form which documents their meals, nap, general mood, and achievements for the day.
All in all... their name says it all. Our toddlers are the essence of the meaning of the word "busy". Have you heard the recent "buzz"??? Busy Bugs is the place to be!
